My background includes audio electronics, loudspeaker design, testing, manufacturing, and engineering work at Genesis Physics and Advent Corporation, followed later by software engineering management at Meyer Sound. Over the years, that work expanded into embedded systems, software architecture, materials, and product development. I have been a member of the Audio Engineering Society since 1980, AES Member No. 23072.
Flow/1 is the sixth expression of this invention and the product of a long development process carried out entirely through 3D printing. The first printed proof-of-concept was created in 2003, and successive three-fold, four-fold, and six-fold versions followed over the years. The current Flow/1 is the fourth six-fold realization, shaped by more than five years of voicing and optimization. Its name reflects both purpose and lineage: Flow for the controlled movement of air behind the driver to extract remarkable bass from a compact enclosure, and /1 as an homage to Advent Corporation and Henry Kloss’ Advent/1.
